Course Details:

        This 4-hour course provides basic first aid skills for a tactical environment in which an elevated threat level exists. It is based on the US Military's Tactical Combat Casualty Care guidelines which is taught to all US Service Members. Students can expect to learn concepts and lifesaving skills to render basic medical aid to a trauma casualty, which can be used in a number of situations, with plenty of time and materials for application and practice. The course is laid out to follow the US Army training approach of MARCH (Massive Hemorrhage, Airway, Respirations, Circulation and Hypothermia Prevention).

Instructor Details:

        Sergeant First Class Michael Lynch is a former Army Green Beret with over 15 years experience as a Special Forces Medical Sergeant. He has completed multiple combat tours to Iraq, Afghanistan and the Southern Philippines as a Senior Medic on a Special Forces Operational Detachment - Alpha (Special Forces "A-Team") while serving with 19th Special Forces Group (Airborne). He was deployed to both Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan and Philippines).  SFC Lynch also worked as a medic with the US Drug Enforcement Agency in Afghanistan conducting air-assault raids of opium production facilities. As a member of the Western Regional Counter Drug Task Force, Mike trained a variety of Federal, State and local law enforcement agencies to include DEA, Customs and Border Protection, CBP-Special Reaction Team, ICE, and LA County Sheriff's Department in tactical medicine. He has also trained with allied special operations forces from around the world. He has been awarded a number of medals and honors for his work in the field as well as his performance during training (Special Forces Medical Sergeant’s Course Distinguished Honor Graduate). He currently resides in Illinois on the farm where his father grew up with his wife and daughter and trains ROTC cadets at the Eastern Illinois University.
